Lief
Lief had been dumped in a village near to the shelter. He had an injured leg.
A lady took him home and had the leg x-rayed and sort medical treatment. Soon after she was moving away and could no longer look after Lief. We were contacted and were able to help, having a small quarantine area free.
We named him Lief as his area was high in the shelter and was surrounded by leaves (leaf sounding the same as Lief). Lief means happily/gladly which we know he was to come into our care.
Shortly after Lief contracted parvovirus and received medical treatment immediately from the vet. At one point we felt that little Lief would not make it, but this little man is a fighter. Happily he survived and began to show his little cheeky, loyal and loving personality.
Lief is awaiting a second opinion from a specialist Dr. in Bulgaria as to the treatment of his leg.
Currently his best friends are Nelly and Weaver. He particularly like to chew Nelly’s tail.
