I always loved dogs and always wanted to do something to help animals in need. I was following the Everydaystray journey for some time before I came to Bulgaria in the winter months of 2023 to volunteer at the shelter. I planned to stay for one month but ended up leaving two months later with the hardest goodbye ever. I fell in love with this special place where every dog gets treated like a family member. To see that the reality of most of the dogs living in Bulgaria is a completely different one is heartbreaking. There are so many dogs that no one cares about, either strays or those being chained up their whole life. To help to make a difference for some of them makes me happy.

While volunteering at the shelter I especially fell in love with Binky. She and her brother Basil grew up being chained up on a property until Neil and Clair rescued them. In October 2023 I adopted Binky and I wouldn’t change a thing, I can’t imagine a life without her.
