My name is Martha, which means a royal lady. I did not feel very royal as I was kept on a very short lead with my six puppies and I slept on an ant’s nest. My life was not glamorous, safe or royal.
I was a chained dog living in an old open barn next to a house with a lady who said she cared for me and my little ones.
Opposite me lived my other two older puppies, they were kept in a rabbit cage, cramped, dirty, no food or water. I could not help them as I was chained.
Then I was found by the Everydaystray Team and we were all taken away from this place, I cannot say home as I did not feel like it was how a dog should be treated.
I now live safely at the shelter with my little ones. Neil from the team built us a very special place where we are safe.
Sadly, Eliza one of my older puppies died, but Betty remains happy and healthy living with all the other dogs at the shelter.
We are all cared for, fed and have a safe place to sleep at night, no more ants nests. Now, at last, I feel royal!
